Giving Anchor

Why give?

For those of us who regularly attend Oakhall Church and see themselves as part of the church family, we see the opportunity to give to the church as an opportunity to serve. Some of our gifts are used in outreach across the world, some are used for the ongoing costs of running the church here in Caterham.

Being a registered charity (no.1156069) our accounts are submitted and checked by the Charity Commission where they are available for perusal. This also means that the church is able to receive gifts through the “Gift Aid” scheme.

We carefully separate the preaching team from the financial team so that whoever might be preparing the Bible teaching will not know who is giving what at the church. We feel that this is a healthy approach to managing the private information about personal giving.

We praise God for the Oakhall Church family and pray that we would use the resources that He entrusts to us in a way that is wise and brings Him glory!

'Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver'

 2 Corinthians 9:7

how to give?

At our Sunday Morning and Evening services, there’s an offering box in the main hall for those who wish make an in-person financial offering. Some of us prefer to give through our bank account and still others use a service provided by the charity “Stewardship” to enable giving online - please click the link below to reach this service.

Emergency appeals

Many of us will be greatly shocked and saddened in the light of disasters in Ukraine, Turkey and Syria. If you would like to make a gift to help those affected, we've listed some excellent organisations who are providing support in some of the most challenging areas.

Ukraine

OM teams on the ground in Ukraine and in surrounding countries are working directly with their local communities to help those displaced by the current conflict. Refugees are desperate for any kind of help as they cross borders to find safety. OM teams are responding with emergency shelter in homes and church facilities, first aid and basic health care, food parcels, and hygiene supplies.

Ukraine Giving

Turkey/Syia Earthquake

OM's local partners are already distributing food and water packs, infant formula, essential hygiene packs and non-food items such as blankets to an estimated 6,000 families who had so little and have now lost everything.

OM are rapidly evaluating where more help is needed. Through established connections and roots in these communities, OM’s partners are able to assess longer term needs in the area and respond accordingly. This approach enables us to engage deeply with people.

Samara's Aid is already working in Syria to provide essential supplies to those suffering in the conflict and now the affects of the earthquake. Every prayer, every gift, every action brings hope to people hit by disaster.  Even before this devastating earthquake, there were over four million people in need of aid in Northwest Syria. People are facing a crisis on crisis. Oakhall Church are partnering with Samara's Aid to collect items desperately needed to save lives and give hope.
